There is an alternative to those who seem to have a higher loyalty to their party than to the district they represent, an alternative to the gridlock and courting of special interests, an alternative to the lack of solutions in a time of so many common threats to our common good.

And that alternative is Anita Hartke, candidate for Congress from Virginia’s 7th District. Check her out at her webpage and consider this choice for change -- we need solutions not politics.

While I have not been that supportive of Cantor, let alone this Democratic Congress that seems like they have fallen asleep at the wheel since taking it back in 2006 and have not followed through on virtually anyhting that was promised in the campaign for "change" in 2006 where Jim Webb defeated Allen. Other than Jim Webb efforts I think both Pelosi and Reid have failed the American people every bit as much as Bush. They have determined it aceptable to take the year off and let Obama make his run at the Presidency.
With the flip flops coming out of this election one thing is for sure you know exactly what you are getting in Eric Cantor. He has not impressed me on TV either lately, though he is rather skilled at raising money.
My only question for his opposition is why if she apears to be aligning herself with entrenched left of center types like Howard dean and others on her website. To win the 7th she will have to fall somewhere in the center to defeat Cantor. You have to look at how well people like Huckabee did in the republican primary in the 7th to get an indication, especially outside Richmond and parts west. While I do not think she can take Cantor in Henrico or Chesterfield, she should be trying to appeal to those along the stretch up to Amissville where she is from.
I can she a moderate, like Webb campaigned, having a chance but if she parades people like Dean out in the open or even Leslie Byrne from NVA who recently lost to Connolly in her bid for the nomination in the 11th she will struggle I think.
